Ground Breaking News
The time is drawing closer! Plans for our new building are moving along.
The High Holy Days services this year will all be held in our old familiar
Hillel building. Then, first week in October, we'll begin to tear it down,
say farewell to the old, and bring in the new with a building fit for
the new millenium.
Everyone is invited to fondly say goodbye to our old Hillel building which
has serviced us so well for a half century. And everyone is invited to break
ground for our new building, scheduled to be built during the new year to come of 5771. Stay posted for where we will operate for the 2010-2011 year.
Texas A&M Hillel has been in the process of raising $6-8 million for the 2010-2011 Capital Campaign for the construction of a brand new Hillel Jewish Student Center, as well as a $4 million programming endowment.
The new facility will be state-of-the-art, and include a media room, dual Kosher kitchens, and increased worship and education space. The building will be constructed on the current site of the Hillel Center, but will provide students a Jewish home they can be proud to call their own.
The current facility is outdated and insufficient for the ever-growing Jewish student body of Texas A&M. But our new building brings us into the new millenium able to service a new generation of Hillel Aggies. Watch this page for all the news as we fondly demolish our old building, and break ground for what's to come. For those interested in the details of the planning you can look here:
